Emergency Exits

It is essential that all emergency exits are kept clear, unobstructed and well sign posted in case of the need for urgent evacuation of a building. They also need to be protected from the day to day rigours of the warehouse environment. Pedestrian movement in factories needs to be controlled. To utilise space more efficiently in high bay warehouses, much of the pedestrian access can be on raised platforms which brings extra safety considerations. Berry Systems offers solutions for both ground level and for raised platforms.

Berry Steel Bollards

A simple yet effective internal solution that are available in varying heights, thickness and finish to suit. Standard finish is galvanized, height 1m and bolted down or cast-in to concrete.

 

 

Berry Flexi-Bollard

Flexi-Bollards provide single point impact protection from vehicles of up to 5 tonnes. They are finished in high visibility yellow and work on the same principle as the Flexi-Post, with the rubber shock absorbers absorbing much of the forces of impact. This brings savings on replacement and maintenance.

Berry Handrail

Ball Type Handrail systems to suit all walkways. They are easy to install, made of lightweight components which delineate a safe and easy route to emergency exits or to avoid dangerous machinery or traffic areas. This system conforms to BS6180. Available with Mesh Infill on request.

Pedestrian Walkways

Spring Steel Buffa and Handrail

A combined Barrier and Handrail system is required where there is factory stock or traffic movement that could impede people using walkways, particularly en route to emergency exits. Escape routes must be kept clear and that includes trip hazards. Berry’s combined solution eliminates this issue. It uses all the properties of the Spring Steel Buffa but with the ‘L Shape’ leg and the barrier turned so that it is facing away from the escape route. An extension piece is added up to the required height of 1100mm for the handrail. Mesh can be added to the upper or lower sections if required.

Flexi-Post, Berry Barrier and Handrail

The Flexi-Post and Berry Barrier system is uniquely engineered to be able to withstand regular heavy impact of up to 10 tonnes. This is done through the rubber shock absorbers positioned within the post socket. With the addition of a 1100mm high handrail this offers a perfect solution for protecting emergency exits.
