Loading Bays

With the potential mix of vehicles in a loading bay, it is hardly surprising that up to 25% of industrial accidents occur in this area. The correct protection system is vital to minimise this potential. Berry Systems has vast experience in this field and has previously assisted with projects for Asda, Morrisons, The Royal Mail and Sainsburys using a mix of these dedicated systems.

Rubber Buffas

A range of suitable rubber profiles are available for various uses as follows:

Tri-Block 100 and 150 – Made from EPDM rubber, in 100mm and 150mm sizes. Can be used as a positive stop for reversing vehicles or as lane delineators.

Berry Steel Bollards

A simple yet effective solution for ramps or loading docks that are available in varying heights, thickness and finish to suit. Standard finish is galvanized, height 1m and bolted down or cast-in concrete. See page 8 for size details.

Berry Handrail

Handrailing and Stairs Specifically for use around emergency exits. Most Loading bay exits are higher than the ground outside. Therefore the need for a secure stairway and handrail system to guide the evacuees away from the building is required. The neat combined system will give you peace of mind.

Berry Flexi-Bollard

Flexi-Bollards provide single point impact protection from vehicles of up to 5 tonnes. They are finished in high visibility yellow and work on the same principle as the Flexi-Post, with the rubber shock absorbers absorbing much of the forces of impact. This brings savings on replacement and maintenance.

Hercules

The potential for falls to ground level on loading bays also represents a hazard for Fork Lift Truck Drivers. A strong containment system is needed to stop accidents. Only the Hercules can offer a flexible protection system with 360 degree impact that is able to contain heavy loads. By adding a chain and alarm to the system, the drivers are easily warned of any imminent danger and the strength of the system increases. Available in 5 or 10 tonne capability.

Spring Steel Buffa (with or without handrail)

On ramps, any impact is likely to be from a glancing blow. The Spring Steel Buffa System, combined with a handrail (where needed) is the ideal solution. It is designed to be a space saving, easy to install (1 Anchor Bolt) barrier that has the strength to take regular glancing blow impacts from Fork Lift Trucks.
